BASICS
To get you
moving in the right direction toward ‘better-ness’ (Hey,
did I just coin another word? Cool.) Here are
some important basics for you to digest.
By and large, we are so gung
ho for the quick ‘n easy fix for everything
that some really basic, really vital points
are overlooked, lost the shuffle of ‘modern living. "I
don’t have time to stand over a stove three
times a day.“
Well, it CAN
be done efficiently. Cook big amounts, freeze the rest.
Every time I’m cooking
it right, I know I’m taking good care of myself and in
essence putting ‘money’ in my body/health/muscle
bank, investing it for later withdrawal.
Some ol’ timey grandma stuff is what I’m
referring to. Not all of it, of course.
Just the proven, tried and true. So pardon my
being obvious,
but this stuff is important, trust me; it works.
| WATER. The
human male body is composed of 76% water!
Wow, so excellent pure water has got to be a huge
factor
is being the best you can be. Quality
water! Eight glasses
a day bare minimum.
Reverse-osmosis processed, mineral enriched
(Dasani is a good, easy to find.) AKAI
makes a $1400 filtering
machine, hooks up to a tap, has pH and
alkalinity adjustments. Other tap filtering
devices are improving all the time.
Yet another investment in your health, immunity and
muscularity. |

BATHE SMART...
GAZILLION
$ BEAUTY/HANDSOME TIP...
SMALL FREQUENT MEALS...

NAPS: Try
to catch a catnap every day. Siestas are chic.
NOT immediately after eating however, unless you
can snooze upright in a chair. Full-gut, full-horizontal
is brutal on a digesting stomach. Built to do its
thing 90 degrees the other way, sitting.
THE
POWER
NAP

Shoes
off, quiet spot, lay flat on
your back on the floor with your legs up and
bent, back
of the calves
resting on the chair seat, bench,
couch or ottoman. The power part comes from
blood
gravitating to your
head
and upper body. Finally. All day
long we’re
on our feet or sitting or well,
vertical.
Upside-down-ism
is about the purest, safest,
surest medicine I know of. Your legs and feet get a
much needed break
(i.e., ‘take
a load off’). Five minutes
in this position, close you eyes,
let your mind go your ‘happy
place,’ it'll feel like
several hours of deep sleep.
Get up slowly! Roll over, up
onto all
fours,
stretch like a cat or dog, breath
deeply. Stand up slowly.
Aaahhhh!
Instant
rejuvenation. And what’d
it cost? Nada. Just five minutes of quality time
with your best bud, you! |

BREATH: While
you're standing
in a cashier
line or in
the car,
make better
use
of your ‘idle
time,’ put .......
